Nike Re-Opens The Doors To Their First Ever Retail Store
So here’s a blast from the past.
Nike have re-opened the history books, and opened up the original ‘Blue Ribbon Sports’ store in Santa Monica, founded by the first official Nike employee Jeff Johnson.
Blue Ribbons Sports (Nike’s first name) was originally opened in 1967 as a speciality running store, and Johnson described it as a hangout spot for athletes to chat about training, racing, and what’s on their feet.
Nike re-opened the doors to the Blue Ribbon Sports store on January 25th, as a throwback to how things used to be; a spot for runners to come through and chill.
