Puma Showcases Their New Self-Lacing Runners
Huh. We really are in the future, aren’t we?
Puma has unveiled their very own self-lacing sneaker, alongside their very own tech ‘Fit Intelligence (Fi)’ module which intends to allow the wearer to automate and fine tune the performance of their shoe.
Even typing this sounds wild to me, but wait, there’s more.
Puma have said the shoe uses a micromotor to adjust a cable system that laces the shoe, utilising the ‘Fi’ module provided with the shoes. The shoe comes with a smart sensing capability that learns the shape of the foot of each user and adapts the fit of the shoe to the individual. The wearer can also monitor, adjust and finetune fit through a smartphone app and on the fly through their Apple Watch.
The trainer is scheduled to drop in 2020, and Puma is looking for users to test their PUMATRAC app along with the shoe on launch, so if this is something you’re interested in keep your eyes peeled for more information. We’ll also make sure to give you updates closer to the time.
